The Clinical Institute of Medical and Chemical Laboratory Diagnostics is the main service provider and performs a broad range of tests on blood, urine, cerebrospinal fluid and other biological materials for the hospital and external referring physicians. Our core competencies are diagnostics for congenital and acquired metabolic diseases as well as blood coagulation disorders and the detection of micronutrients and drugs.
The institute operates a highly automated central lab that is open around the clock and several specialized labs that carry out complex testing procedures. These specialized labs include a clinical mass spectrometry lab, a molecular biology lab and a metabolism lab, which works together with the Department of Paediatric and Adolescent Medicine on rare metabolic diseases.
The nine specialties of the institute cover the complete range of modern lab diagnostics and are located at three different sites.
